Re: Zebra 2 - Basic synth - Beta 2
Zebra 2 Demo Restrictions mentioned @ 18 s is GREAT!
explanation of wireless vs. wired modular is good...
bubble window with preset copy instructions from 0:52 - 1:15 is nice, but valid only for 32 bit windows installations. I don't know if zebra works on a mac. on windows 7 64 bit, my installation folder is: 'C:\Program Files (x86)\u-he\Presets\Zebra2' Additionally, I am unable to find any of the presets if I copy them to the Zebra2 folder, but it works if copied to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\u-he\Presets'. Interestingly enough, the preset wasn't named 'EMPTY', but rather, 'cgi blank'. additionally, the 'cgi blank' preset does NOT look the same as the 'EMPTY' preset you use. These are inconsistencies that may lead to user confusion...
I like the extra explanations from 2:00 - 2:30. Meant for dumbos like myself... thank you...
@ 5:45, you say "Bright Saw" rather than "Saw Bright". I was looking in the 'B' area for Bright Saw till I realized it was Saw Bright....
Give me bubbles for the recaps from 9:05 onwards, as you point out the different components, and how it affects(modulates) the sound....
Oscillator = Sound Source
Filter = Shape the tone of the Sound Source
Envelope 1 = to control the cutoff frequency of the "throher" (filter = I KNOW!!!)
Envelope 2 = control the amplitude
btw, what does the LFO vibrato do??? Question @ 9:45...
Thanks for the instructions on how to save the presets, eh...

Re: Zebra 2 - Basic synth - Beta 2
HI,
thanks for the feedback.
I will take a look and implement those ideas i feel are necessary. One thing i have to point out to you Shree, this is just the Basic section of the course which i consistently mention. things like Vibrato, oscillators, filters and envelopes will all be thoroughly explored in the coming sections of the course.
great feedback again,
thanks
Mark

Re: Zebra 2 - Basic synth - Beta 2
Well i will have to agree with SpaceWalker on everything, the preset cgi blank should be renamed EMPTY in the final release of the video.

the bubble from :47- 1:16 is a bit too long. IMO
explinations are good, clear, and on point

Great improvement from beta 1 video and much easier to follow in my opinion. Info on bubbles did not leave me with any questions at the end of video, which is great. Keep it up.
Re: Zebra 2 - Basic synth - Beta 2
Great video! Only one minor glitch and I think it's not worth fixing. While explaining the various portions of Zebra (the wired component area, oscilator area, modulation area etc.) the baloon pops up in the lower left hand corner. Then you explain the global area which is in the lower left corner as well. I don't think it's a big deal, but the baloon is on top of what you are explaining breifly.
